Basketball Recap: Kearney Takes a Loss

Kearney suffered their biggest defeat since January 26, 2024 on Thursday. They took a blow against the Lincoln North Star Navigators, falling 43-16. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Bearcats' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Ani Leu was her usual excellent self, going 5 for 8 en route to 16 points and seven steals for Lincoln North Star. Leu continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sarah Gatwech, who posted eight points.

Kearney's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Lincoln North Star, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Kearney has already played their next contest, a 43-34 defeat against Bellevue West on the 8th. As for Lincoln North Star, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-27 win against Lincoln Southwest on the 1st.
