Baseball Recap: Steeleville Triumphs

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Steeleville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past the Chester Yellowjackets 7-6. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Steeleville got a big performance out of Connor Brown, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Brown is becoming a predictor of the Warriors' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Carson Rednour was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Steeleville now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Chester, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Looking ahead, Steeleville will be playing at home against Valmeyer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chester, they will venture away from home to challenge Okawville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Rockets at the right time seeing as the Rockets are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
