The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaseer Mann, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Jadin Aviles was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Maritime Academy Charter struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
String Theory posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Boys' Latin Charter 57-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for String Theory.
String Theory's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luca Varallo, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Varallo scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jason Pezzetti, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Maritime Academy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for String Theory, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Maritime Academy Charter have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 31.3% of their threes per game. However, it's not like String Theory struggles in that department as they've drained 37.2% of their threes per game this season.
