Heritage Christian is 0-3 against Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Heritage Christian Eagles will be playing at home against the Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves at 7:30 p.m. Heritage Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Heritage Christian fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Lapel on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 72-64 to the Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (61), Heritage Christian still had to take the loss.

Defeat or not, Heritage Christian got some senior leadership from Cole Louden and Luke Peters. Louden dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Peters. dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Louden has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Schnippel, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Heritage Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lapel only pulled down ten offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, even though Fort Wayne Snider scored an imposing 73 points on Tuesday, Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian still came out on top. Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian pulled ahead with a 74-73 photo finish over Fort Wayne Snider.

Kellen Pickett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Smith, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.

Heritage Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-6. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
