Softball Recap: Lone Tree Takes a Loss

Lone Tree managed to slip by Columbus the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions came up short against the Wildcats on Friday, falling 8-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Lone Tree now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Columbus, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lone Tree will head out to take on Hillcrest Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ravens have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.75 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Columbus, they will venture away from home to challenge Central Lee on Monday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
