Softball Recap: Holy Cross Knights vs. Incarnate Word Academy Angels
Incarnate Word Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Holy Cross proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Angels. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Angels back in March, they had to take a 1-0 defeat.
Genesis Medrano made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Medrano was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season.

Medrano wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Leena Garcia, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Garcia a new career-high in doubles (two).
