Basketball Recap: Jersey Shore Extends Winning Streak to Six

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jersey Shore). They took down the Northumberland Christian Warriors 74-56 on Monday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Warriors are ranked 552nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Jersey Shore, bringing their record for this year to 7-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Northumberland Christian, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jersey Shore will face off against Central Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Mountain is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. As for Northumberland Christian, they will challenge Juniata Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
