Soccer Recap: Palo Verde Triumphs

Palo Verde won the last time they faced Empire and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Palo Verde Titans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Empire Ravens 2-1.

Abubakar Abdullah was the driving force of Palo Verde's attack as he scored both of Palo Verde's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Palo Verde has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those six contests. As for Empire, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 8-4-1.

Palo Verde has already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Thatcher on the 23rd. As for Empire, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on the 23rd.
