Baseball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Remy Jones and Lionel Skernivitz Lead Berea-Midpark to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Olmsted Falls, Berea-Midpark was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Elyria Pioneers by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Titans needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The result came thanks to Danny Bowser's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Berea-Midpark is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 4-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Berea-Midpark let Lionel Skernivitz and Remy Jones run wild. Skernivitz went 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base, while Jones went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three runs gave Skernivitz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jake Kania, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Berea-Midpark's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Elyria, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Berea-Midpark will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pioneers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
