Baseball Recap: Stone Comes Up Short

Stone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gautier Gators. If the Tomcats were looking for revenge after losing 15-4 to the Gators when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Stone saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jhase Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Stone's record is now 10-17. As for Gautier, their victory bumped their record up to 10-14.

While Stone had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
