Basketball Recap: Scott's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Scott lost against Colby back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Scott Beavers took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colby Eagles. The Beavers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Several Beavers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Rumford, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Rumford's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eloy Ruelas, who went 6 for 9 en route to 13 points and six assists.

Scott's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-2. As for Colby, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Scott wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 79-27 win against Trinity on the 21st. As for Colby, they will host Beloit on Thursday. Beloit will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Colby surely won't give up without a fight.
