Basketball Recap: Ifeanyi Ezeala's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Horeb Christian over Pinecrest Prep

Horeb Christian suffered their closest loss since January 19, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Pinecrest Prep Crocs by a score of 70-67. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Crocs' from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ifeanyi Ezeala, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. Aiden Ravelo was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Horeb Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Pinecrest Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabriel Guzman, who posted 25 points. The contest was Guzman's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Rivero, who had 19 points.

Horeb Christian now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Pinecrest Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.

Horeb Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-48 loss against Marathon on the 9th. As for Pinecrest Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 67-59 defeat against Miami Christian on the 9th.
