Basketball Recap: Mt. Hope Huskies vs. Tiverton Tigers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mt. Hope can now relate to. They lost to the Tiverton Tigers on the road by a 51-34 margin on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Mt. Hope saw an underclassman step up: freshman Catherine Frawley posted 11 points and six boards. That's the most points Frawley has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly DaSilveira, who put up five points and nine rebounds.
Tiverton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jenna Del Deo led the charge by shooting 46% from the field to rack up 15 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Jah'Niece Branch, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
