Baseball Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Calhoun and Roane County, and Roane County kept the tradition alive. The Red Devils fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in March.

Calhoun saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ruger Carder, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Calhoun has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Roane County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Calhoun has already played their next game, a 19-1 victory against Hannan on the 30th. As for Roane County, they will square off against Braxton County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
