The Lebanon Trail Trail Blazers are taking a road trip to challenge the Emerson Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lebanon Trail's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Emerson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Lebanon Trail easily dispatched Liberty on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Lebanon Trail fell just short of Frisco by a score of 4-2 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Trail Blazers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Kendall Dreary was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Valentina Quinones also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Emerson was able to grind out a solid win over Independence on Friday, taking the game 7-2. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Madison Fletcher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, Savannah Carleton was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Amilee Stapp, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
Emerson's record is now 9-5. As for Lebanon Trail, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3-1.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lebanon Trail hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Emerson struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
