Basketball Recap: Wellsville-Middletown Takes a Loss

Wellsville-Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Mark Twain Tigers, falling 56-33. Wellsville-Middletown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mark Twain apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Mark Twain found their leader in sophomore Jenna Ross, who went 7 of 17 on her way to 20 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Ross is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Moss, who posted ten points and seven steals.

Wellsville-Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Mark Twain, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8.

Wellsville-Middletown has already played their next contest, a 50-49 loss against Sturgeon on the 20th. As for Mark Twain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 37-29 defeat against North Shelby on the 21st.
