Softball Game Preview: Chiloquin Panthers/Queens vs. Riddle Irish

For the second straight game, Chiloquin will face off against Riddle. The Panthers/Queens will be playing at home against the Irish at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Chiloquin is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Riddle on Tuesday. They lost 15-2 to the Irish. The Panthers/Queens haven't had much luck with the Irish recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

For Riddle's part, Ayla Hidebrand was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Hidebrand has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Riddle let Kyra Light and Madisan Clark run wild. Light went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Clark got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those RBI marked the first that Light has brought in this season. Natalie Harris was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Riddle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Riddle's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Chiloquin, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
