Riverdale is on a three-game streak of home losses, and La Farge a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Riverdale Chieftains will be playing at home against the La Farge Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. La Farge took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverdale, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Riverdale turned things around against Darlington on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Redbirds, sneaking past 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chieftains have posted since May 6th.
Chase Chitwood made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Chitwood was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April.
