Basketball Recap: Custer/Hysham Piles Up the Points Against Reed Point/Rapelje

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Custer/Hysham). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades 82-41. Custer/Hysham pushed the score to 55-29 by the end of the third, a deficit Reed Point/Rapelje had little chance of recovering from.

Reed Point/Rapelje's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Landen Bryant, who posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, and Marshall Ulmer, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

The win got Custer/Hysham back to even at 3-3. As for Reed Point/Rapelje, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Custer/Hysham won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Roberts at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Reed Point/Rapelje, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Broadview/Lavina at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Broadview/Lavina will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Reed Point/Rapelje surely won't give up without a fight.
