Basketball Recap: Wiggins Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wiggins can now relate to. They lost 66-40 to the Middle Park Panthers on Friday. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Middle Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Paugh led the charge by going 5-for-9 on his way to 19 points and seven boards. What's more, Paugh also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joey Gagnon, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 10 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Wiggins' loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Middle Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Wiggins does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Middle Park, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-45 defeat against Highland on the 8th.
