Softball Recap: Bruton Comes Up Short

Bruton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Poquoson Bull Islanders, falling 23-2. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bull Islanders from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Bruton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordyn Stinson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Bruton's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Poquoson, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bruton will face off against York at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Poquoson, they will take on Smithfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bull Islanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Packers have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
