Softball Recap: Pearsall Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Pearsall barely beat Uvalde the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went the Pearsall Mavericks' way against the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) on Tuesday as the Pearsall Mavericks made off with a 9-3 victory. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Kirsten Morales was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alayna Zapata, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

Pearsall pushed their record up to 13-8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Uvalde, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10-1 record this season.

Pearsall will be playing in front of their home fans against Carrizo Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pearsall is facing Carrizo Springs at the right time seeing as Carrizo Springs is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Uvalde, they are taking a road trip to take on Floresville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
