Baseball Recap: Titusville Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Titusville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Brevard HEAT Firehawks on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Terriers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Titusville let Jacob Bercaw and Cooper Cecilione run wild. Bercaw scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Cecilione scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Bercaw a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Demaree Fielder-Frey, who scored two runs while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Titusville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brevard HEAT struck out seven times.

Titusville's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Brevard HEAT, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Titusville is taking a road trip to face off against Cocoa Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cocoa Beach's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Titusville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Brevard HEAT, they will take on Cocoa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
