Bexley and Whitehall-Yearling are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Lions will take on the Rams at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Bexley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Bexley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bishop Ready, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Silver Knights on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Claire Watts was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Maddy Thomas was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyra Duffee, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
Bexley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Whitehall-Yearling fell victim to Buckeye Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Barons, falling 16-0. The Rams have struggled against the Barons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Whitehall-Yearling saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubree Waites, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Whitehall-Yearling's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bexley, their record is now 2-7.
Bexley couldn't quite get it done against Whitehall-Yearling in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
