Football Recap: Andrews Comes Up Short

Andrews had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it seven. They took a 36-22 bruising from the Hanahan Hawks. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 29-28 to the Hawks when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hanahan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Snodgrass out in front who rushed for 123 yards and two scores. The Hawks are 2-1 when Snodgrass posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Quamell Grant, who picked up 130 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Andrews and Hanahan will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Yellowjackets are set to challenge their familiar foe Academic Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hanahan will face off against rival Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
