Baseball Game Preview: East Central Eagles vs. Ogilvie Lions

East Central hasn't had much luck against Ogilvie recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Lions at 3:30 p.m. East Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

East Central is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Mora.

East Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gradyn Swenson, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Swenson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another was Jarid Dornseif, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Ogilvie fell victim to Aitkin and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Gobblers, falling 6-0. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Gobblers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Ogilvie's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for East Central, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
