Baseball Recap: Bogue Chitto Comes Up Short

Bogue Chitto entered their game against Enterprise on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Bogue Chitto took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Enterprise. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 10-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Alex Michael Roberts was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Roberts was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Tripp McCaffrey was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Bogue Chitto: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Tucker Kyzar was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Bogue Chitto and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Enterprise, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Bogue Chitto will head out to square off against Loyd Star at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Bogue Chitto's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Enterprise, they will welcome Salem at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
