Recap: Soledad Aztecs vs. Gonzales Spartans
The Soledad Aztecs pushed their score all the way to 55 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 62-55 to Gonzales. Soledad was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Soledad still got an impressive performance from Pablo Morales iv, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Morales iv pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Pedro Morales Jr, who scored nine points along with five assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Soledad and nudges their season record down to 7-12. As for Gonzales, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Soledad will face off against the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gonzales, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Greenfield is ranked 1148th, while the Spartans are ranked 1124th).
