Soccer Game Preview: McIntosh County Academy vs. Claxton

The McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Claxton Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McIntosh County Academy has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 19.

Friday just wasn't the day for McIntosh County Academy's offense. They came up short against Metter on Friday, falling 5-0. Madi Morey was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Claxton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over Portal on Friday. Claxton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by four goals or more this season.

Claxton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four matchups. As for McIntosh County Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

McIntosh County Academy might still be hurting after the 12-3 loss they got from Claxton in their previous matchup on March 3rd. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Buccaneers were down 5-2.
