Baseball Recap: Wake Prep Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Neuse Charter

Wake Prep Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Neuse Charter Cougars.

Branden Sigman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Russell Fowler was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Wake Prep Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-1 loss against Franklinton on the 26th. As for Neuse Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 19-0 defeat against East Wake Academy on the 3rd.
