Football Recap: Wesley Creel Key Part of Team Effort in Gamecocks Win

There's no place like home for New Brockton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Monroe County Tigers by a score of 20-12 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gamecocks also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

New Brockton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wesley Creel, who threw for 151 yards and three TDs. The Gamecocks' leading receiver Anthony Silar was Creel's top target yet again, picking up 80 receiving yards and one score.

New Brockton's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.0 points over those games. As for Monroe County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Brockton will welcome Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monroe County, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Flomaton at 7:00 p.m.
