The Ludlowe Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Danbury Hatters at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Ludlowe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Ludlowe had just enough and edged out Greenwich 6-4. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won seven in a row.

Mason Holcomb looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kenny Luczaj, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Kieran Scruggs also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Ludlowe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Danbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Trumbull, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hatters have suffered since April 8, 2024.

Giani Chieffalo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Danbury's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Ludlowe, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Ludlowe was able to grind out a solid win over Danbury in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
