Basketball Recap: Dayton Comes Up Short

Dayton lost against Taft back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dayton Pirates came up short against the Taft Tigers, falling 60-37. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Tigers are ranked 34th).

This is the second loss in a row for Dayton and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Taft, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dayton will host Amity at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Amity will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Dayton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Taft, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Taft Tigers challenge the Corbett Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
