Softball Game Preview: May River Sharks vs. Bishop England Battling Bishops

For the first time this season, May River will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Wednesday. They will head out on the road to challenge the Bishop England Battling Bishops at 6:00 p.m. May River will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

May River is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on James Island with a sharp 14-2 win on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Sharks with their most commanding win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Addison Roppelt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mckayla Landry, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

May River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as James Island only posted an OBP of .222.

Meanwhile, Bishop England fell victim to Beaufort and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to the Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Battling Bishops have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bishop England's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for May River, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
