Mayfield is 8-2 against South since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Mayfield Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the South Rebels at 7:30 p.m. Mayfield is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Mayfield fought the good fight in their overtime game against Riverside on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Beavers 70-66.

Meanwhile, South unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were outmatched by Harding and fell 69-34. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 567th, while the Raiders are ranked 27th).

Mayfield's record now sits at 1-8. As for South, their record is now 4-8.

Mayfield didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against South when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory. Will Mayfield repeat their success, or does South have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
