After losing to Ewing the last time they met, Hopewell Valley Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs walked away with an 8-4 win over the Blue Devils on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

The team relied heavily on Ryan Ottobre, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Lengle, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Hopewell Valley Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ewing struck out six times.

Hopewell Valley Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-7-1. As for Ewing, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Hopewell Valley Central will challenge Pennington at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ewing, they will square off against Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
