Baseball Recap: Lake Region Wins Going Away Against Bartow

Lake Region's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Bartow Yellow Jackets. Considering the Thunder have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Dan Colon, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Lake Region is 4-2 when Colon posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Calcutt, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Lake Region's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Bartow, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Region will face off against Frostproof at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bartow, they will welcome George Jenkins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. George Jenkins will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
