Baseball Recap: Tinley Park Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Tinley Park proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 20) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Hillcrest Hawks 5-4. That's more bragging rights for the Titans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Josh Wallenda made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tinley Park is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-9 otherwise. Wallenda was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Dylan Hullinger was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lukas Quiroz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Tinley Park's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Hillcrest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Tinley Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hillcrest: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
