Softball Game Preview: River Falls Wildcats vs. Prescott Cardinals

The River Falls Wildcats will challenge the Prescott Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While River Falls' win against St. Croix Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Panthers 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 10th.

AUDRA ADERMANN spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, River Falls saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ALEXIS RALSTON, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI RALSTON has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Prescott entered their tilt with Grantsburg on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Pirates. Considering the Cardinals have won nine games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Prescott's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for River Falls, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.
