Mallard Creek (Charlotte, N.C.) extended its winning streak to eight games with a 58-0 victory over West Charlotte (Charlotte, N.C.) on Saturday.
The Mavericks were up 34-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Marquez North in the first quarter.
Mallard Creek expanded its lead to 55 points entering the fourth quarter. MC scored three times in the third, including once on a passing touchdown.
The Mavericks' most effective player was North. The senior wide receiver ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. A member of the 2013 Top 100, North has now scored 18 touchdowns on the season.
Led by
Brian Walker, Mallard Creek went into the matchup giving up only 8.5 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, MC came away with a 42-0 victory.
Mallard Creek (8-1) will play a 4A I-Meck game against Hough next week, while West Charlotte (2-8) will take on Vance also in a 4A I-Meck game.
