Baseball Recap: Bogue Chitto Comes Up Short

Bogue Chitto came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-5 to the St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 7-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Bogue Chitto saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tripp McCaffrey, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Bogue Chitto's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bogue Chitto will host Enterprise at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they will be playing in front of their home fans against French Camp Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. French Camp Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.92 runs per game on average), something St. Andrew's Episcopal will no doubt try to take advantage of.
