Baseball Recap: Hernando Falls Short of North Marion in the Playoffs

Hernando and North Marion squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hernando had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Colts by a score of 4-3. The Leopards were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Colts earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Gage Blade was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

At the plate, Hernando saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaine Ellis, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Hernando has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season. As for North Marion, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season.

While Hernando had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
