Baseball Game Preview: Westminster Wolves vs. Hinkley Thunder

The Westminster Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Hinkley Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westminster has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Westminster lost 15-3 to Riverdale Ridge on Tuesday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westminster saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian Fieros, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Hinkley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 13-9 to St. Mary's. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Thunder's highest-scoring game to date.

Westminster's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Hinkley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Hinkley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westminster hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. It's a different story for Hinkley, though, as they've only averaged .097. Will they be able to contain Westminster's hitters?

Everything went Westminster's way against Hinkley in their previous matchup back in March, as Westminster made off with a 28-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
