Football Recap: Beaver Comes Up Short

Beaver dropped to 5-5 on Friday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Avonworth Antelopes, falling 49-7. The Bobcats were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 31 points in the four matchups prior), but the Antelopes' defense proved too tough.

Travis Clear threw for 76 yards on 12 of 18 attempts. Kaiden Hewitt was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards.

As for Avonworth, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average this season.

Carson Bellinger was his usual excellent self, throwing for 162 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes, while also rushing for 56 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dimitri Velisaris, who rushed for 66 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Coming up, Beaver will square off against Freeport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Avonworth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
