Basketball Recap: Crystal City Takes a Loss

Crystal City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the St. Vincent Indians and fell 81-16. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Indians are ranked 35th).

Crystal City's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Addison Bova, who posted 11 points, and Blake Parker, who put up no points. That was a full 68.8% of Crystal City's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Makayla Martin also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Crystal City now has a losing record at 10-11. As for St. Vincent, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crystal City will welcome Bourbon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Vincent has already played their next game (against Herculaneum), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
