Mount Vernon and Meridian pushed the score to 8-0 the last time they played Meridian, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Bulldogs' defense stepped up to hand the Trojans a 1-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for Mount Vernon, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
