Softball Recap: Ascension Catholic Bulldogs vs. Chalmette Owls
Ascension Catholic proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chalmette Owls, sneaking past 4-3. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Owls, too.
Emma Delatte and Hayden Theriot did most of the damage at the plate: Delatte scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Theriot scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Delatte, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
Ascension Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.
