Baseball Game Preview: Fountain Valley Barons vs. Marina Vikings

For the second straight game, Fountain Valley will face off against Marina. The Barons will venture away from home to square off against the Vikings at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Fountain Valley 3.4, Marina 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Fountain Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Marina get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Barons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Logan Hunt, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Marina off the board. Hunt has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Fountain Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Zamora, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Drake Robinson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Fountain Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Marina, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
