Preview: West Texas Comanches vs. Booker Kiowas
The West Texas Comanches will head out on the road to challenge the Booker Kiowas at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. West Texas is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
In what's become a running theme this season, West Texas gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 55-31 margin over Sunray. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win West Texas has posted since December 5, 2023.
Meanwhile, Booker didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Stratford on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 46-41 win. The win was just what Booker needed coming off of a 67-44 loss in their prior matchup.
Booker relied on the efforts of Hagen Chisum, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds, and Xavier Aguilera, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aguilera has scored all season.
West Texas is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Booker's record is now 12-7.
West Texas couldn't quite finish off Booker in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 and fell 42-40. Can West Texas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
