Basketball Recap: South Mecklenburg Sets Scoring Season-High Against Ballantyne Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Mecklenburg). They really took it to the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-18 win. The Sabres have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Kaitlyn Hensley was a one-woman wrecking crew for South Mecklenburg as she dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. Those 22 points gave Hensley a new career-high. KB Brown was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 11 points and seven steals.

South Mecklenburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

South Mecklenburg's record is now 14-2. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Myers Park the next time they take the court. South Mecklenburg will head out to face Myers Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Ballantyne Ridge will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
